Project overview
Sensay is an AI knowledge-transfer platform that captures and preserves critical team expertise during offboarding, turning tacit knowledge into searchable, interactive AI.
I’ve been working with Sensay as a full-time graphic designer since August 2024. I focus primarily on everyday social media graphics and bizdev assets: pitch decks, one-pagers, business cards, and occasional event spatial design.
Working in a startup feels like navigating a ship through rough seas: constant growth, exploration of new directions, continuous adaptation, and responsibility for every decision. Together with the Sensay team, we’ve gone through several fundamental shifts in both the product and its positioning, while my role has remained consistent — ensuring that the brand image and communications clearly convey the vision and achieve company marketing goals.
In a fast-paced, evolving startup environment, I’ve grown, expanding my toolset with generative AI to ensure daily delivery of high-quality graphics. My efforts, skills, and dedication have been highly appreciated by our marketing team lead, Lukas Rydl, and Sensay CEO Dan Thomson.
Sensay v1: Replicas for people
After a year dedicated to building the MVP, Sensay had secured investor support and entered a phase of rapid growth. What had once been only a quick prototype now was a live, growing product that required a brand with a clear vision, positioning, and communication strategy — and at the moment the marketing team was forming, I joined Sensay as a graphic designer.
Initially, Sensay’s visual communication relied on a set of bright colors and simple, star-like shapes, based on a brand concept from Lyon & Lyon marketing agency. At the time, the product was positioned as a B2C solution, with replicas of famous and historical people available for chat, audio, and video messaging. A striking, colorful style resonated well with the product's ideas and its audience.
Sensay v2: Replicas for business
As the product direction shifted toward B2B, Sensay now required a more "mature" corporate look. In collaboration with Sensay CEO and the designers of Lyon & Lyon, a new brand book and website design were produced. The refreshed visual direction focused on a forward-looking, calm, and welcoming identity. Soft gradients, curated stock imagery with accents on people and their replicas, and Sensay platform mockups with data were used to highlight real outcomes and user benefits.
With this newly acquired visual direction, lead by strategic mind of Lukas Rydl and working together with brand manager, business developers and other team members, I’ve produced hundreds of social media images for all of Sensay platforms to ensure daily brand presence and lead generation from both Web 2 and Web 3 worlds, while also creating essential bizdev assets like business cards, one pagers and pitch decks.
Although new brand imagery brought sufficient results and was used heavily for Sensay marketing, it kind of fell off the product/UI&UX side of the platform, so those two corners always felt a bit disconnected from each other.
Sensay v3: Offboarding Automatization Chatbots
As the company gained momentum, Sensay grew its team with new professionals to support the next stage of development. The product was shifting from replicas to chatbots built for specific use cases. In response, the leveled-up product team initiated a redesign aimed at improving the product–market fit. With the brand being a key part of the redesign, I was excited to take an active role in shaping it.
With art direction from Monika Nowak, Sensay’s Lead Product Designer, we formed a new visual language - based on the fundamentals of minimalistic modern UI design, and its elements combined with eye-catching surrealistic visuals. With the new brand guidelines I’ve established, both product and marketing visuals were finally on the same beautiful page.
After that, my work shifted toward creating graphic assets for the new website, as well as visuals for blog and email communication. I also produced a range of polished presentations, one-pagers, business cards, and event branding materials.
